Listen to the Computer: AI and Analytics Upend Project Delivery

Artificial intelligence, machine-learning algorithms and advanced analytics are devouring construction data at a massive rate and spitting out advice and recommendations almost as fast. Buildots uses regular 360° image captures from hardhats to drive a work-tracking scheduling AI, while Giatec is capturing dense sensor data from curing concrete all around the world to train algorithms to optimize mixes. Charles Pankow Builders was challenged by the City of San Francisco to perform a deep analysis of local business engagement on a public project, and the firm then decided to apply the PowerBI analytics system it had built out to other areas of project delivery with surprising results.
