汤姆·索亚is a journalist focused on information technology for the construction industry. He defines that broadly as anything that helps leverage data to improve the design, safe delivery and use of facilities and infrastructure. Through nearly 20 years as an editor with the nation’s primary construction industry news publication, Engineering News-Record, Tom delivered weekly reports, features, analyses and videos about technology developments, while playing a key role in programming and producing conferences and events. He led the production of ENR’s annual FutureTech conferences, where significant technology advancements that are poised to benefit construction often are unveiled. His involvement in construction began as an underage office boy in his father’s architecture firm and continued as he worked construction through college breaks and summers.
