Dignity Health and Kindred Constructing New $25 million Hospital In Chandler
健康和尊严的愈合thcare Inc. recently broke ground on the $25 million Dignity Health East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Chandler, Ariz. Dignity Health expects to open the brand new 50-bed, 58,000-square-foot rehabilitation hospital in 2016 at 1515 W. Chandler Blvd. It will call for the hiring of 190 employees to run the two-story facility once it is complete.
Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor for the project.
“Collaborating with high quality providers like Dignity Health is critical to our commitment to meet patient needs and manage care throughout the entire care continuum as we lower costs and improve patient outcomes,” says Kent H. Wallace, Kindred’s chief operating officer. “This new joint venture adds to our strong relationship with Dignity Health, and we look forward to working together to provide health solutions for patients in the greater Phoenix community.”
The two organizations announced their partnership last March, though Kindred will own a slight majority in the joint venture and manage the day-to-day operations of the new hospital. This is Dignity's first rehab hospital in the Valley, but the San Francisco-based nonprofit hospital operator has plenty of experience in partnerships and joint ventures.
“For patients being treated in one of our hospitals, the partnership with Kindred will make available to them additional long-term medical and rehabilitation resources to help them return to a healthy life,” says Linda Hunt, president and CEO of Dignity Health in Arizona.
Dignity has had previous medical projects completed in Arizona. In March, Dignity partnered with Lewisville, Texas-based Adeptus Health for its first freestanding emergency room in Chandler. The nonprofit also operates several facilities in the Phoenix-metro area, including Arizona General Hospital, Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and St. Joseph's Westgate.
Kindred operates two transitional care hospitals in the Phoenix-metro area and is developing a 120-bed transitional care center.
