The project is using prefabricated interior and exterior wall panels constructed off site and delivered to the jobsite for installation, saving nearly three months of construction time. A total of 770 prefab panels are being fitted to the outside of the buildings. Approximately 125 prefab interior wall panels also will be used on the project.



TheKitchellcontracting team recently topped out the 551,750-sq-ftCatalina Parking Garageproject at thePark Central Mallin Phoenix. The garage, designed byGLHN Architects & Engineers, is now the tallest precast parking structure in Arizona. Crews placed 11,700 cu yd of precast concrete to build the 10-floor structure. It will contain more than 2,000 parking spaces.

Kitchell also constructed the original Park Central Mall, which opened in 1957 as Arizona’s first regional shopping center. The area has been converted mostly to office space since then, but many of the mall’s original midcentury-modern buildings still exist and are being preserved and updated to create new office and retail spaces.
