Russell Hulsehas been named a business development manager for the Southwest region by McCarthy Building Cos., Phoenix. Hulse will focus on the education sector and be responsible for client relationship development. He is a member of Design-Build Institute of America.

Travis Coombshas been promoted to vice president of northern Nevada operations for CORE Construction, Reno, Nev. Coombs joined the company in 2013. In his new role, he will lead business strategy and development in the northern Nevada region.

Michael Keller, director of preconstruction, is relocating to Reno from the company’s Las Vegas office. Prior to working for CORE, Keller served as an owner’s representative for public-sector clients.

Ted Lutherhas joined Civil & Environmental Consultants as a principal in Phoenix. He has more than 32 years of experience in land development engineering, planning, construction document design and implementation and construction administration. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Nicholas Brownhas been promoted to vice president of the municipal department for Phoenix-based Wood, Patel & Associates. He previously served as a project manager in site development for the company and became a company shareholder this past summer.

Shane Snyderhas been named president of Cannon & Wendt Electric Co., Phoenix, replacingDavid Faganas he prepares for retirement in 2020. Fagan will move into the role of CEO and work closely with Snyder over the next 14 months. Snyder has more than 25 years with Cannon & Wendt, having held almost every position at the company. He previously served as executive vice president.

Obituary

Steve Perich, founding partner of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, died in early September at age 60. He stepped down from his role as CEO earlier this year. Perich joined Dekker & Associates in 1988, becoming president in 1992. In 1997, a merger led to the formation of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini.

The firm is based in Albuquerque with offices in Las Cruces, N.M., Amarillo, Texas, and Phoenix. The firm was ENR Southwest’s Design Firm of the Year in 2014. Perich was named New Mexico’s top CEO in the business services category by Albuquerque Business First in 2015.

Under Perich’s stewardship, the firm garnered many notable large projects in New Mexico, including Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, University of New Mexico Domenici Center and Civic Plaza renovations in Albuquerque.
