Delivering a large greenfield distribution center and regional headquarters on an 81-acre site, the design-build team minimized environmental impacts by protecting onsite wetlands and the adjacent Five Forks Civil War battlefield. The project team did this by installing retaining walls along the wetlands, relocating truck parking spaces and developing best management practices.

开发历史遗址需要美国陆军工程兵团和弗吉尼亚部的环境质量许可。该团队说,此外,在整个站点上进行了一项文化资源研究,以确定可能的工件新利18备用和部队运动数据。

The 580,732-sq-ft project was delivered on time and within budget.

The team installed a central plant ammonia refrigeration system, high-density concrete flooring and high-end dock equipment.

The proximity of a precast plant that could produce load-bearing panels resulted in a $1.2-million savings to the owner, the team says. The decision to use precast over tilt panel also allowed for “better control over the project schedule,” the team says.

As a safe and cost-effective alternative to installing a parapet wall around the entire roof, the project team provided for permanent tie-off points tied directly to the structural steel. This let workers tie off anywhere on the roof where the parapet was low enough to create a fall-protection hazard.
