Opened in the south of Moscow in 2018, this shopping and entertainment center emphasizes functionality, sustainability and integration into its physical and social environment. Kashirskaya Plaza was one of the largest real estate projects completed in Moscow last year. The design firm JERDE Partnership and contractor ENKA had worked together on the Kuntshevo Plaza retail project in Moscow, which opened in 2015, and applied lessons learned there to this job.

Sound barriers and low-intensity lighting at night were used to help mitigate disturbance to the densely populated residential neighborhood that surrounds the project site.
Besides 184 retail tenants and a movie theater, the complex includes a removable ice rink on the roof and a fitness center with a pool and open-air courts. Green features include extensive LED lighting and an HVAC system that channels warm air toward the building’s many skylights, melting snow and ice without a dedicated defrosting system.
