The renovation of two historic residence halls originally built in the 1940s required updating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and HVAC systems, as well as updating restrooms, lounges, kitchens and dorm rooms. New dormers added seven residence rooms in each building with other attic space built out as study and lounge spaces. The project included construction of a 13,000-sq-ft commons building connecting the two halls that features laundry, fitness, meeting, study and lobby spaces. The LEED Gold-certified building consists of a cementitious panel rainscreen, composite panels and curtain wall on a steel-framed structure.
